Obsessing over…

Pointy stilettos, sparkly flats, simple v-neck tees and camis, tie-dye bathing suits, sequin shorts, super straight hair, polished ponies (the kind you wear on the back of your head) and ice cream.  Holla!

What are your obsessions?

Bling at the Beach

I’m guessing this is a bathing suit cause it’s missing a swatch of fabric if it’s a body suit.  Not sure how practical sequins are at the beach, but then again, I rocked them in Aruba.  Love that top knot!

White nail polish. Yes? Or does it look like I ran out of polish and grabbed a bottle of white out?

Why yes I do want to smell like a coconut, especially one from Aruba.  Which reminds me, I still have a couple more Aruba posts from this past September.  Gotta get on that.

What to do When You Run Out of Things to Decorate in Your House - Ogle Pretty Pictures from West Elm

If I had an extra bathroom in my house to decorate, that sucker would have a clawfoot tub and this pretty little shower curtain to go along with it even though butterflies creep me out.  Oh and ladies bugs too.  Cause afterall, they’re both bugs.  And ew.  I digress.  But man oh man, a clawfoot tub.  That would be a dream.

I have to get something off my chest.

The perfectly round sunglasses, like the ones Johnny Depp wore in Willy Wonka, they creep me out.  I don’t think they flatter the shape of anyone’s face, and I want them to poof, vamoose and be gone!

Head to Toe - Crappy iPhone Pics & Messy Room

Cause I still don’t have a digital camera that works worth a crap to speak of.  As for the messy room behind me, I don’t have a valid reason unless you consider cocktailing (that’s too legit to quit) a good excuse.  And yes, my obsession with pencil skirts continues.  There’s just something I dig about a good pencil skirt.  Oh and one more thing.  I’m a bit wrinkly from a long day’s work.  It happens.  C’est la vie.

Oxford (with awesome elbow patches), H&M / Pencil Skirt, Express / Studs, F21 / Stilettos, Guess

Spring Uniform

Stock up on these simple camis from F21 for less than three bucks a pop and pair with a cuffed pair of skinny jeans and a sky-high pair of heels.  My fav is the v-neck style in dusty pink and taupe.  Get after it before they get gone.

Minkpink Dead Poets Society Blouse

I have an affinity for these drapey blouses with the extra fabric that ties into a pretty little bow, but every time I try one on, I end up looking frumpy.  Absolutely dreadful, in fact.  And I want to like them so bad because I think they’re chic and elegant and lovely.  Anyone else?

About

portrait

ABOUT ME: I'm the girlest of girls who loves sky-high heels, sassy clutches and all things feminine. I like a good piece of costume jewelry just as much as I enjoy a good cocktail. My signature piece of jewelry is a cameo, and my signature cocktail is a vodka soda tall with a lemon. If you happen to see a cameo-clad gal cocktailing around downtown Raleigh, you can bet your boots it's me!

ME & MY BLOG SITTING IN A TREE: I'm a twenty something-year-old who lives in Raleigh, NC. I work as an accountant for now; that is until I get the nerve to quit my job, sell my house and move to an island to live a more simplified life. I enjoy writing about relationships and life as well as telling anecdotes from my youth. I'm a shy and socially awkward little girl who's on the lookout for a good friend, someone who can really commit to all my quirks. I also like to share sappy details about my husband who I married in the fall, a man who I truly believe was made for me.

"Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake." -Henry David Thoreau
