J.Crew Factory Enamel and Crystal Droplet Earrings
If I were going to do some retail therapy, these pretty little things would top the list. The color, georgia peach, is rather appropriate too considering I used to be one for a stint. That seems like a lifetime ago.
Just Breathe
I haven’t been myself since Saturday. I’m constantly on the verge of tears worrying whether ignorance is more blissful than having to deal with the reality of what is. There’s a choke in my throat and a sinking feeling in my chest that won’t go away. I’m making myself physically sick, and I’m not the one with the real symptoms.
People say everything will...
Sometimes you don’t realize what an incredibly perfect fairytale you’re living in until something horrible grabs that Louisville slugger stashed underneath your bed (for those nights when you’re alone) and busts your precious snowglobe of a bubble all to pieces.
The Vitamin String Quartet
This is another good string band I’ve been jammin’ out to today in addition to 2Cellos with a little bit of Florence & The Machine mixed in just because. Really gets me hyped about plowing through some spreadsheets. Or maybe it was that bull I just crushed (the red one).
If I could play any instrument (besides the tenor sax because I already played that at one point in my life), it would hands down be the cello. There is nothing more soothing and sexy. Don’t believe me? Check out these two guys.

Florence & The Machine.
Be advised. Changing my bday celebraish from the 15th to the 21st. It’s the right thing to do.
The Long and Short of It
I’m used of my nails being long. Not exactly the most functional thing in the world, but it’s how I like them. I usually paint them a pinky peach hue unless I get adventurous and go for a canary yellow or a vibrant blue reminiscint of the crystal clear waters in Aruba.
My nails are my thing, but lately my nerves have gotten the best of me. Instead of having, what I call, the...
Never Have I Ever. . .
not checked a bag when I travel. Maybe it’s a girl thing or a high maintenance thing, but I always check a bag, which means I always over pack. While I like to think I’m organized in most aspects of my life, I’m the complete opposite when it comes to packing. I pack heavy, and I pack pretty much everything I like in my closet at the moment, shoes included. Oh and products! I...

Perhaps a more aptly put rebuttal, would be to argue a woman wearing a pant suit is as equally acceptable as a woman drinking bourbon on the rocks. Neither implies you’re more of a man or less of a woman.
This is a statement with which I most certainly agree.
However, straight bourbon (in my opinion) is inherently a more masculine drink, particularly when compared to a cocktail such...
izzieandthebeast said: It’s too bad we can’t share our opinions in a polite and well put manner anymore without being judged. Yeesh, people are so defensive about everything now. Can’t a girl have her own opinion? I get what you were saying.
Precisely. The minute you express an opinion the majority doesn’t share, you’re immediately ostracized and attacked for it.
tehvalerie asked: The opinion you shared may not have been about politics or religion, but it's still offensive in that you insinuate that women do or should only make decisions based on what men like or want from us.
5tickyheels said: wait, are you TRYING to piss people off?
Simply stating a matter of opinion. I take you’re a bourbon drinker.
Ladylike Liquor
Opinions are usually best kept to oneself unless you’re in good company. However, there are times you feel the need to speak your mind unforgivingly, and while some may care. Others will not. I don’t consider my stance to be a terribly opinionated one as it’s neither related to politics nor religion; rather, it’s more of a personal preference. Or more rightly put, a...
It seems like. . .
everytime I get serious about eating healthy, I get a craving for the most unhealthy things you can imagine. And then I seek those things out and sabotage it all. Today, for instance, I ate a 5 Guys double cheeseburger, cajun fries, fountain soda, and an Oreo McFlurry for lunch.
I’m embarassed to even write this because I can feel my body weighing down on my chair by all those uneccesary...
Black Halo Colorblock Belted Sheath Dress
What I’d like my entire work wardrobe to look like…colorful fitted dresses.
Worry in the City
I found out a lot about myself on this Miami trip, namely that I’m a worrywart of the worst kind. There wasn’t much “party in the city” like Will Smith raps about. More like worry incessantly and think everyone I come in contact with is either trying to steal my purse or roofie me.
I’m not fun much in a big city without Jeff by my side. It’s a comfort...
Little Trouble in Big China
My whole life I’ve tried to stay out of trouble. Trouble gives me that pit in my stomach, that breath jerked away like a tablecloth slipped out from underneath a table setting.
I want no part of that.
I remember getting in trouble one time for throwing sand at people on the playground in the third grade and another time for saying a curse word after a heated game of kickball in the...

Obsessed with the one on the right. Love the unexpected snakeskin patterned heels too.
jcrew:
we admittedly love stripes, so when our superstylist, Gayle, showed us how to wear more than one striped style at a time, we were nothing short of delighted (it’s what we call striping it rich)

Take the sailor out of your stripes with some sparkle. Juxtapose a simple,…
Funny how your day flies by when you’re bathing in the sun and crawls by at a snail’s pace when you’re stuck under the flourescent lights at the office. Not taking a lunch break doesn’t help matters either, let me tell you.

Note to Self
Just saw the most amazing outfit floating about the streets of Raleigh. The kind that makes you do a double take. On a lady no less. Yellow pleated maxi skirt. Peplum polka dot top with an open triangle in the back. The isosceles kind. But with a hot pink belt wrapped around. Though not obstructing her bare back in any way. Oh! And blue suede platforms. Cobalt. Bold. Beautiful.
